According to users, Amazon Web Services suffered a severe outage on Tuesday.
The company provides cloud computing services to individuals, universities, governments, and businesses. People trying to use Instacart, Venmo, Kindle, Roku, and Disney + report problems. The McDonald’s app has also failed.
Amazon said in a post an hour after the outage began that it had identified the cause and “was actively working towards recovery.” She gave no information about the cause.
The outage began this morning on the US east coast, said Doug Madory, director of internet analytics at Kentik Inc, a network intelligence company.
“AWS is the largest cloud provider and us-east-1 is their largest data center, so any disruption there will have a major impact on many popular websites and other internet services,” he said.
